Unlock the potential in your learner.

Unlock the potential in your learner.

All you want is for your child to be successful.

Success can come in many different ways. But often time it's hard to figure out how to get our little bundles of joy there. Afterall, children don't come with a manual of all their unique qualities. They are discovered along the way. It can be frustrating and downright disheartening sometimes not knowing how to support your child or even advocate for what they need. Every child deserves a chance to feel successful. We just need to figure out what they need in order to succeed. I can be your partner in figuring this out.

What we provide.

Peruse and choose what service you feel is right for you. And if you don't know, that's okay too. Let's chat and see what can be the best next step on our journey in supporting your child(dren)'s success. I offer a 30 minute Free Consultation so we can get you started down the right path.

Gaining Insight

I don't know what to do, but I know I need to do something.

If you've ever said this to yourself or had this feeling, you are not alone. Your child is a unique individual that unfolds over time. What may have worked in the past, may not work now. Or perhaps you've never found what "works." Let's chat to see what needs to be done.

Assessment

I want to get a fuller picture of my child's abilities.

Don’t want to wait on the school

district or your medical provider to complete an assessment? Not satisfied with the assessment that you received from the school? Just need some documentation to confirm your suspicions? I’m here to provide a dynamic assessment that not only addresses your concerns but also provides meaningful and practical ways to support your child.

Building a Plan

I kinda have an idea of what's going on but, I need help putting the pieces together.

You've got some of the pieces, but where do you go from here? I can help you sort out well-thought out plan that

you can work. This may include advocating for more resources at your school, seeking out other service providers, gaining more knowledge through an assessment, tapping into community and healthcare programs, etc. Whatever is a part of the plan, I will help you figure out the steps you need to take.

IEP/504 Consultation

IEP, 504, FAPE, LRE... what are all things?

You would think that the one space in which things would be clear in life is in the education system. But alas, it’s another system in this world that’s unnecessarily complicated! Not to worry. I have the experience on both sides of the IEP and 504 table to help you understand what you need, what you’re entitled to, and what would be most helpful to your child.

TESTIMONIALS

"Dr. Simmons was remarkable! She uses a child-centered and strengths-based approach that left teachers, the family and (most importantly) the child feeling a sense of belonging, empowerment and self-awareness."

- Kathryn Rizzo
Educator/Learning Services Coordinator

"Dr. Simmons has helped numerous families become aware of how to better understand and help their children become more successful in life. Her in-depth knowledge of the psychology of children has shed light on exactly how my son thinks and what I can do to help him thrive. Not only have her insightful techniques shown me what I need to do as a parent, but she has also allowed me to connect to my son in ways that I would have never expected possible. If your goal is to gain a better relationship with your child, I would highly recommend Psychoeducational Insights."

- Damion Morton
Parent of Autistic Child

"Dr. Simmons was thoughtful, collaborative, and courteous. She sent documents in advance such that we had ample time to review all the information."

- Dr. Alleyne
Advocate & Former Elected County Board Official

"Working with Dr. Simmons was wonderful for both our son and us, his parents. Our son enjoyed his individual visits and felt comfortable working with her. She was extremely thorough in her testing and evaluation and regularly communicated to us what was happening. Her final report was super detailed and helpful to us in supporting our child both in school and in his home life. Overall, just a terrific and highly informative experience working with Dr. Simmons."
